Step by step
- In student Mindi, choose Study mode and select the language you want to practise. Platform mode is for help using MentorMind.
- Start a live conversation. Tell Mindi your level and goal, for example: “Practise a simple Chinese café conversation with me, one question at a time.”
- Continue speaking and ask for feedback or a model phrase. Pronunciation coaching can use audio evidence when assessment succeeds; transcript text alone cannot establish pronunciation.
- For structured IELTS speaking, open IELTS and choose the speaking activity. For GCSE Chinese, open the separate Chinese speaking practice through Mock Exams, subject to your account access.
- In GCSE Chinese speaking results, the phrase practice panel lets you Listen to model, Record pronunciation, then Stop and assess. Review available audio feedback and replay your recording.
Things to check
- Speech feedback and practice scores are learning indicators, not official exam grades.
- If audio could not be assessed, try another spoken attempt; a missing score is not a zero.
- Choose languages and voices offered by the current selector. Availability and assessment support can vary.
- Teachers can use Teaching mode to plan language lessons; use the student study experience for learner conversation practice.
