About us
MentorMind combines AI with real pedagogical expertise to give students personalised guidance — and give educators the tools to act on it.
Why we started building.
Most students only find out they're struggling after an exam — not before. Teachers are stretched thin, parents lack visibility, and the tools available are either too generic or too expensive to be useful.
We believe educational support should be continuous, personalised, and accessible to every student — not something that resets at each school year or depends on who can afford a private tutor.
Purpose
Mission
Help students close gaps, help teachers intervene earlier, and help schools make better decisions — all with AI that's transparent and keeps humans in the loop.
Vision
From primary school through to the workplace — educational support that never resets, never expires, and evolves with every learner over their lifetime.
How it works
Three principles that shape everything we build.
Exams, mark schemes, and feedback reviewed by subject specialists — not just generated by a model.
We surface learning gaps as they form, so teachers and students can act before results day.
We promote critical thinking, teacher oversight, and responsible use — AI that supports learning, not replaces judgment.
Backed by research
MentorMind is founded by researchers at UCL Institute of Education, ranked world #1 for education. We are a proud member of UCL Hatchery, UCL EdTech Labs, UCL Centre for Digital Innovation, and the UCL Innovation & Enterprise network.
Our values
Achievement means nothing if it comes at the cost of mental health. We design for the whole student.
No two learners are the same. Our tools adapt to individual strengths, gaps, and pace.
Great educational support shouldn't depend on postcode, income, or who you know.
Every feature is informed by educational research and cognitive science — not guesswork.
Technology should feel invisible. What students and teachers notice is better outcomes.
We build guardrails, promote critical thinking, and keep educators in the loop — always.
Educators, researchers, and engineers — building from experience.
